Are you interested in learning to Fly Fish or developing your skills and taking them to a new level?
The courses are suitable for individuals, groups or father and sons.

Cost: £30 per person Bank. £40 per person Boat course
The beginners course will cover tackle and how to assemble it, knots, casting, flies and entomology, fishing methods and as much fishing under supervision as possible.
Boat courses will cover boat safety and handling as well as casting from a boat and boat fishing methods and tactics.
It is advisable to have done some fly fishing or to have attended a beginners bank day prior to coming on a boat fishing course.

Tackle and equipment is provided but bring your own if you have it. Bring a hat and eye protection (Polaroid’s are the best), wet weather gear and Wellingtons and a change of cloths just in case!
On all day courses bring a pack lunch and plenty to drink.
The course fee will include fishing permit and a one day fishing licence.
Beginners Bank Fishing Course Programme
Meet at Water Sports and Activities Centre, Wimbleball.
9am Registration and Coffee
9.15 Aims of the course, health and safety, the law rules and regulations.
9.25 Fly Fishing tackle –rod, reel and line- and how to assemble it.
Knots – figure of eight, water knot and five turn blood knot with tuck.
10.00 Casting- Overhead and Roll casts on grass
10.45 Coffee break
11.00 Casting
Leaders and flies.
11.30 Go to the lake and start fishing under supervision.
13.00 Bank side lunch by the water
13.30 Discussion and demonstrations about insects (fish food), entomology and flies. Fishing methods.
14.00 Fishing
Fish handling, playing, netting etc
16.30 Course review, discussion
